This week's challenge is:
Inspired By: Anything Goes
Here is some inspiration....
I made another CAS fall inspired card...

I used Creative Inspirations Paint~ Deliquesce Clear embossing powder for the sentiment.
Having stamped my image with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Gathered Twigs, Faded Jeans and Rusty Hinge fitst
then using the clear embossing powder over top to get the embossed look with the colored image.

For the leaf I painted it using Autumn White for some more sparkle and dimension.
I apologize that my picture does not show the shimmer very well but in the light
the leaf takes on a GREAT golden shimmer!!

I hope you get some inspiration from my project
and
We hope you'll share your creations with us!
Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT week!!

~ Jessica~

So with that, we recently had a Design Team call and have asked 7 new ladies to join us!  So please help welcome these lovely new talented ladies!!

What do you like about CI Paints?
I love that there are sooo many beautiful colors to choose from, and they are shimmery sweetness!!!

Favorite color?
Pink

Favorite way to use them?
I haven't used the paints yet, but I am excited to use them on flowers, albums, ribbon!

----------

What do you like about CI Paints?
I love the shimmer of CI Paints!  The way the paint catches the light is amazing and adds a fantastic finish to my projects.  I also love the formula.  A little bit of paint provides great coverage on a variety of surfaces.

Favorite color?
Mocha Latte

Favorite way to use them?
I've used CI Paints on a variety of surfaces, including different types of paper, acrylic, acetate, metal, chipboard and wood, with excellent results.  I love to use CI Paints to create colorful backgrounds for my layouts and to color embellishments.

----------

What do you like about CI Paints?
I love that the CI Paints go on smooth and there is no mixing necessary.

Favorite color?
Hard to choose they are all so beautiful. I tend to like the greens, but the purples are pretty nice also.

Favorite way to use them?
I like using Creative Inspiration paints straight out of the jar for most projects. I like to thin the winter frost and add shimmer to any color with out changing it. I also like using them on 3-D projects, because when the light hits the CI paint, it just adds that extra shimmer.

----------

What do you like about CI Paints?
The bling they have of course!! I love that they catch the light and you get a brilliant bling and color along with it.

Favorite color?
Mocha Latte - It goes with everything and is the name of one of my favorite drinks, so what's not to love!?

Favorite way to use them?
I love using CI Paints on flowers to brighten the color and add some bling. I also love using them on my mixed media creations over acrylic paints in a similar color. It gives the pieces a little extra "something." :)

----------

What do you like about CI Paints?
There's a huge selection of beautiful colors to chose from, and every one of them has that gorgeous shimmer to them!  I have never had them dry out, which I've had happen with other brands. CI Paints have worked well on everything I've tried them on.  I'm not the neatest of crafters, so I love the easy clean up of soap and water.

Favorite color?
That's a tough question with so many choices!  If I could only pick one color it would be Fairy Dust, because you can layer it over anything to give it a pretty shimmer.

Favorite way to use them?
On images to add shimmery color, on designer paper and chipboard pieces to make it unique, and on flowers to match my projects.

----------

What do you like about CI Paints?
I love how each of the Creative Inspirations paints colors has amazing shimmer and shine!!  What a treat
that these are all made in the USA!!

Favorite color?
My favorite color so far is the Aqua Marine! This color blue is so gorgeous and vibrant!

Favorite way to use them?
The Creative Inspirations paints are so versatile! I love making my own mist with these paints and using the paints to alter various projects!

----------

Monica Scrapstreasure

What do you like about CI Paints?
The added shimmer it brings to your projects.  The huge assortment of colors is an added plus.

Favorite color?
Fairy Dust

Favorite way to use them?
I love using them when I make handmade flowers I paint the paper so they have a truer color to them and they look more real.

WELCOME to all the new ladies!  We are so excited to have you joining us and can't wait to see what you create!!

Have a great day!

Fairy box and goodbye - Kianel

Hello dear friends from Creative Inspirations paints!
Kianel here with you today for my last post as a CI DT member. I wanted to let everybody know that it's been a blessing to be part of this DT and get the opportunity to work with those fantastic products during the past 2 years! I wish welcome and lots of fun to all the new DT members and i am sure their work will be amazing!
So for my last post, i made a fairy box using Creative Inspirations paints to highlight my picture and all my embellies. Papers are from Bazzill and MME, stamp is from Whimsy Stamps, Dies are from Cheery Lynn designs and all other embellies are from a french online shop.
Here is a close up of the big flower made using the Build a flower #2 set from Cheery Lynn designs. The paper is white and inked with distress and Creative Inspirations paints "autumn wheat" and a touch of "mango".
Here is a close up of the colouring of the image from Whimsy Stamps using "autumn wheat" "mango" "tan" "rose quartz" "fairy dust" "olive green" "sage".
I also used the paints to give shimmer to the lace around the central circle and the big heart lace around the lid and also the butterflies.

Don't forget to join our weekly challenge for a chance to win some yummy products from Creative Inspirations!
Farwell my dear readers and see you around in blogland, lots of love from France, Kianel.

Flower Petal Christmas Tree

I've got a Christmas tree card to show you today, with a unique twist.

This tree is made from paper flower petals, painted with Emerald shimmer paint.  (You may recall I made some shamrocks with these, too.)

I cut them apart and assembled into a tree, directly onto the patterned paper, using craft glue.  Use the glue sparingly, though, so it does not warp the paper beneath (you live, you learn ;).

The punched-star was gilded with Gold shimmer paint, and the tree trunk (a Word Window punch) sports a coat of Chocolate shimmer paint.

Thanks for joining me today!

Christmas Angel

Happy Tuesday crafting friends.  Today is my last post as a member of the Creative Inspirations Paint design team.  I've had so much fun working with their fabulous paints, glitters and embossing powders.  They always add such a beautiful sparkle and shimmer to my images, and I'll continue to use them on future cards.  So today I have a Christmas card to share with you.

This little sweetie is Christmas Angel by Saturated Canary.  She's colored with copics and colored pencils and then I painted her wings with Fairy Dust paint.  I sprinkled some Resplendence Angel Dust Fine Glitter on the ornaments.  Hopefully you can see the sparkle these products add if you enlarge the picture.

If you scroll down you will find our weekly challenge.  I hope you play along.  Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs, Anita

Mixed Media Layout

How is everyone today? Well I am happy and sad as this is my last post with CIP. I think I really had a blast using a few techniques with this layout.

Here you can see some masking I did with a spray mist technique as well as int he other corner.

Then I also loaded paint and dropped it on then used the heat gun to blow the drops away from the start point.

I finished the layout with some distressed ink along the edges and finished it off with flowers, jewels, and some sticker words.

who says fabric is for sewing...

Hello my wonderful and creative friends!

Have you been to your local craft store recently?  Well, if you have, you may have noticed that fabric flowers seem to be the rage for scrapbook/card/mixed media supplies.

Personally, I would rather make my own to fit my project....

Step 1: run your chosen fabric through a die cut machine with your favorite flower die.  The steel rule die (the heavy thick dies) work best for cutting fabric, but you can use the thinner dies if you don't mind doing a little hand snipping to finish the cuts. You can also hand cut these if you would rather wield the scissors.

I'm using canvas here, but any fabric will work.  (I love using worn out jeans for this!)

Step 2: thin out your CI paint by mixing some paint with water on a non porous surface.

Step 3: paint. Yes, I know, this is the hardest step and you were all wondering just how I did it.... LOL!

Step 4: let them dry completely....

In the meantime, you can feel free to admire that shimmer!  The purple ones are canvas with Royal Purple CI, the darker ones are old jeans with Autumn Wheat. Gorgeous, huh!

Step 5: for shabby flowers, use your fingernail to rub and fray the edges of the petals.

Step 6: glue all layers of your flower together and add a center.

Did you know that you can alter the color of the CI Jeweled Inspirations by coloring them with an alcohol based marker (like Sharpies)?
Step 7: Scrunch up your flower. I like to scrunch it up around the jeweled center, but you can scrunch it any way you see fit.

Step 8: gently un-scrunch your flower, and you are ready to use!

These can be made in any size or shape with what ever fabric you want.  Try layering different kinds of fabric for a fun twist (the flower in this card is layered with canvas and tulle).  Try using different things for centers... buttons, beads, pearls, charms...anything you want! If you don't like the shabby look, just don't fray the edges. Make it fit your project and style, make it yours!

Enjoy!

finally...

Hello my fabulously wonderfully patient friends!

Guess what?  I've updated the tutorial link page!  (about time, huh! I had no idea how far behind I had gotten... oops!)

And, I have added a photo of each tutorial for easy reference.

Enjoy!

My last post for CIP DT: was it a year?

Hello, my dear fiends! Irit is here and this is my last post as a member of CIP DT. It was a great colored year and I just move on to another crafting adventures to come (some good one will come in January, but it's a secret for now). So as my last post I want to share with you this altered candle holder that was a simple metal junk  in my  useless things  box and became this fancy shabby piece due to Creative Inspirations Paints and a lot of Prima flowers.

First I made a molding paste brick wall over the front , then I colored it with light pinks and white CIP.
The glued flowers were too bright, so I muted the shade with more white and cream paints and now it's in colors I like and shiny too.

So as I said, it was a great year to be on this team and we will meet on web.
Wish you all the very best!
Irit

Touch of Vintage Shimmer

7" X 7"
Hi Everyone,

My post today, will be my last one as a design team member for Creative Inspirations Paint.  However, you'll still see me pop in from time to time with a creative project of some type - so its not really goodbye :-)

You know me, I love vintage, so had to create something a little more old worldly.  The ribbon was painted with splashes of Chocolate, Burnt Sienna and Tan - love how you can colour 'anything' with this wonderful product - just a simple zap to heat-set in the microwave and an iron, and away you go!
Of course, dare I say 'GOLD' has been added liberally (nothing new) to the flowers, some fully coated and others only the edges of petals.  Chocolate highlights the carnations.  The corrugated cardboard beneath the image has been washed with Ivory.  Oh my that Ivory is stunning on the corrugated board, and really leaves the most glorious shimmer.
Soon the new design team members will be announced and I am sure they will bring many wonderful creations to inspire everyone.

Thank you to Kendra, and my fellow team-mates for being such a fabulous support throughout my term, and to Molly for creating a truly fantastic product...
